Recovery Act (ARRA) Statistics Now Available

A new suite of Recovery Act (ARRA) statistical reports are now available on the ORA Portal (http://portal.research.ucla.edu). Users may access these reports via the "Recovery Act (ARRA) Statistics" link under the Reports section of the General Statistics tab.

Included in this suite of reports are the following:

  • ARRA Dashboard: Homepage for the new reports, providing summary, at-a-glance information on UCLA’s ARRA statistics. From this page, users can drill-down to view more detail for each report by clicking the "View all…" hyperlink beneath each box.
  • Proposed vs. Awarded Dollars – ARRA proposal dollars requested and award dollars received by organizational hierarchy (organization, division, subdivision and department); drill-down to proposal and award detail.
  • Proposals vs. Awards Count – Count of ARRA proposals submitted and awards received by organizational hierarchy (organization, division, subdivision and department); drill-down to proposal and award detail.
  • Award Statistics by Sponsor – Counts and dollars of ARRA awards received by sponsor; drill-down to award detail.
ERS Management Report Now Available

A new ERS Management report is now available under the Compliance tab to assist campus administrators in monitoring certification completion rates. In this first release, administrators have the ability to:
  • Easily view certification rates by fiscal year, quarter, and organizational hierarchy (at the organization, division, subdivision, and department levels)
  • Drill-down to a detailed listing of specific reports (at the employee level) and their statuses
  • Export results into Excel for sorting and distribution
This report will allow administrators better oversight during certification periods and help ensure compliance with federal effort reporting requirements. Be on the lookout for additional enhancements to this report in the near future.
FSR Due Report Enhancements

The FSR Due report has been enhanced to include a new Organizational Hierarchy view. Users now have the ability to view summary report data by Organization, Division and Subdivision. This new feature is intended to provide deans, directors and other administrators with improved management reporting and greater visibility into their areas of responsibility. To access this new view, navigate to the Post-Award tab and locate the "Organization" hyperlink under FSR Due. Users do not need to request additional access to the Organizational Hierarchy view.

Users who prefer the Department level view and already have the appropriate permissions can continue to access it by navigating to the Post-Award tab and clicking the "Department" hyperlink under FSR Due instead.

New FSR Due Report Added

To assist with the current Fund Backlog Initiative and ensure timely reporting going forward, a new FSR Due report has been developed and added to the ORA Online Resource Center under the Post-Award tab. Departments now have the ability to track the status of specific Overdue financial status reports as they move through the EFM review and submission process. They can also pro-actively monitor Upcoming reports due to begin preparing the necessary documentation, or search Completed reports to see when they were submitted to the sponsor. To view the status of a report:
  • Access the FSR Due report
  • Select either Overdue, Upcoming or Completed from the sub-menu
  • Search for your department and click the counts for the desired time period
  • A list of reports and their details, including the current status, will appear
  • Click the "Current Status" or "Status History" columns (depending on whether you have selected Overdue, Upcoming or Completed) to see the status history detail
  • The Status History page will appear with a listing of the statuses, associated dates and comments, and the EFM contact person who entered them.
New Directory Search Tools

Three new directory search tools have been added, allowing users to quickly search for a PI, department, or sponsor. Access these new tools from the Pre-Award tab or from the links below:

New Reports Feature: Export to Excel

A new "Export to Excel" feature has been added to the "Fund Expiration" and "Award Status and Synopsis" reports. This allows a user to quickly open or download the report results in Microsoft Excel format. To use this new feature, navigate to the bottom of the report, locate and click the button labeled "Export to Excel" to begin your download. It's that easy!
Advanced Award Synopsis Search Tool just added to the Resource Portal!

The award synopsis, previously accessible only via InfoEd, summarizes the latest budget information from the Notice of Award and provides a snapshot of other key award-related information. With the new advanced search feature, users can quickly locate an award synopsis through the Resource Portal, using various criteria such as fund number, sponsor award number, PI name, and department name, to name a few.

ORA Online Resource Center Unveiled

The new ORA Online Resource Center is your “one-stop shop” for all web-based research administration reports, tools and forms. This site is intended to provide the UCLA research community with easily accessible information pertaining to its research-related needs. On-line IRB Protocol Inquiry Gets Facelift

The Online IRB Protocol Inquiry tool has received a new look and feel. Use this tool to search against the UCLA OPRS database for IRB protocols that are currently in review, are approved, or have expired for less than 90 days.
